NFL Champions History. Interesting NFL Championship Facts

December 7, 2008

To continue feeding the NFL fever I wanted to share with all of you NFL fans an interesting facts that shows the power, strength and spirit of true American Football. Let’s start by remembering that since 1970, the Super Bowl has served as the NFL championship game, prior to that merge, the national football league champion was determined by a team’s win-loss percentage, with ties omitted.

Since1934 the winning team for the NFL championship received the Ed Thorp Memorial Trophy, named like that in honor to a noted referee, rules expert, sporting goods dealer. The trophy was passed along from champion to champion each NFL season and each year the championship team’s name used to be inscribed on it along with a replica trophy for them to keep, however the original NFL championship trophy is now missing.

Among the most impressive NFL records of these championships:

· The Cleveland Browns’ Edwin “big play” Berry was the MVP for six straight appearances in the NFL championship game.

· The Green Bay Packers were the team with most NFL championships (12 in total) and won 3 straight championship games.

· In the 37 NFL Championship the teams from the Western Division / National / Western Conference won 25 of the games to the Eastern Division / American / Eastern Conference teams total of 12.

Regarding attendance to the NFL championship games, there are two very impressive dates:

  • Largest – 85,693 in 1955 at Los Angeles.
  • Smallest – 13,341 in 1941 at Chicago.

With all these fun facts, we would like to continue enjoying this years Super Bowl, NFL history is definitely being made while you are here reading this small article.

Most valuable players of the last decade in the NFL. Greatest players during a Super Bowl.

December 6, 2008

All NFL enthusiasts like to follow up on the performance of the greatest NFL players every year. The Most Valuable Player title on the Super Bowl is one of the most important honors and only a few can achieve it.

On this list we bring you NFL games played with courage and passion, people who on every football game come to the field with pride and give their soul to their team. Here are some of the Most Valuable Players of the NFL of last decade so far:

  • 2000 Quarterback Warner Kurt Warner for the St. Louis Rams
  • 2001 Linebacker Lewis Ray Lewis for the Baltimore Ravens
  • 2002 Quarterback Tom Brady for the New England Patriots
  • 2003 Safety Dexter Jackson for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • 2004 Quarterback again Tom Brady for the New England Patriots
  • 2005 Wide receiver Deion Branch again for the New England Patriots
  • 2006 Wide receiver Hines Ward for the Pittsburgh Steelers
  • 2007 Quarterback Peyton Manning for the Indianapolis Colts
  • 2008 Quarterback Eli Manning for the New York Giants

The most remarkable NFL players that have received this honor in my opinion are definitely NFL Quarterbacks Colt’s Peyton Manning and Patriots’ Tom Brady who has actually received the Most Valuable Player title twice in the past 8 years.

We still need to check what will happen during Super Bowl 2009 and which NFL teams will have the chance to get the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player title this NFL season.

So far, I feel is too early to jump into conclusions and I really feel that there will be some surprises during this year’s NFL games.

Kerrigan and Harding, life time arch rivals

October 15, 2008

Sure, you can’t think of ice skater Nancy Kerrigan without thinking of Tonya Harding.

Harding was the nearest rival to Kerrigan back at the Figure Skating Championships of 1994 which were held in Detroit, and Jeff Gillooly, Harding’s ex-husband, wanted to make it easier for his wife to come up with the title and advance to obtain a berth for the US Olympic team heading to Norway.

And so Gillooly hired Shane Stant, a street gangster, to attack Kerrigan during the competition’s practices. The attack was successful and Nancy Kerrigan was forced to withdraw from the competition, while Tonya Harding went on winning the championship.

When the FBI got involved, they discovered that Harding knew of her ex-husband’s intentions but did not revealed anything. The US Olympic committee wanted to remove Harding from the team, but Tonya Harding filed a $20 million lawsuit, but she dropped it when the USOC said she could stay.

Despite of her injury, the USOC gave Nancy Kerrigan a spot on the Olympic team.

On Norway, everyone was ready to watch both Harding and Kerrigan competing against each other, but the Gold went to Oksana Baiul of Ukraine, while Kerrigan got the Silver and Harding finished 8th after a broken boot lace which stopped her at the middle of her act just to start back again after another 4 skaters.

Did anyone say karma?

What are the advantages of choosing a Pay per Head service

September 12, 2008

If you are looking to make your business bigger, to avoid any kind of exposure with the law or even stop answering phone calls or writing hand tickets, then you are on the right place.

Price per Head is a new option in the offshore betting industry, that brings sports betting agents and bookmakers new and safer solutions for all their online and telephone bookmaking needs. At the same time this service gives you a higher credibility, more effective ways to fulfill all of your players’ needs and lowers to the minimum your risk of losing money.

The Pay Per Head concept will help a bookmaker achieve a very professional image as well as the opportunity to expand his business without any limits. Nowadays, a bookmaking agents needs can only be met efficiently if they can have 24/7 access to what they need, and this is why a pay per head sportsbook can offer you these kind of services such as online casino, horse racing, sports book call center and wagering online services at anytime day or night.

Let me give you a small tour of a bookmaker’s advantages when running a pay per head shop offshore:

Player’s services: A pay per head sportsbook has professional staff services available 24/7 for all players’ questions or doubts. A pph shop also offers a wide variety of wager types such as teasers, parlays, money lines, if bets and much more. Regarding horse racing the options are abundant as well; pph sportsbooks offer extensive lists of tracks and wager types.

There is also more entertainment for those offshore bookies who want to join in.  A successful sportsbook service offers Casino Online with all the games that you normally would like to play in a land based Casino such as: blackjack, poker, baccarat and more.

Sports Betting Agents service:  As you may know an agent sportsbook works on a price per head basis so the best part of this is that the fee is only charged for players that are active. On the other hand, a price per head sportsbook offers sports betting agents vital services for their business such as toll free numbers, a free website, line grading, etc.

Pay per head bookies can also check all their players’ movements and reports from the sportsbook’s website or if the bookie prefers, the shop can create a personal betting web page. The most popular option is still to call up and ask for all the information required, regardless of the time.

If the idea of running your own sportsbook through a per head book makes you nervous just think a bit, how would you feel later on after joining a pay per head sportsbook and having no more stress, no worries, and a bunch of happy players because they all feel taken care of, they got what they need, and the best of all, you are just awaiting for the final reports and to cash in those profits?

Patriots QuaterBack Tom Brady out for the season due to knee injury

September 8, 2008

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady won’t be playing this football season and that is breaking news within the AFC.

Brady’s knee was injured this past Sunday in a game against Kansas City Chiefs and immediately afterwards rumors started circulating about Brady having torn a ligament. Well sure enough, he had. It seems Tom Brady’s injury to his left knee injury will require surgery and thus, 2007 NFL MVP player won’t be helping his team reach victory this 2008-2009 NFL football season.

New England Patriots’ coach Bill Belichick stated he felt bad for Tom Brady because “no one had worked harder for the team” during a news conference that took place today.

Supposedly, Matt Cassel will be the substitute Patriots quarterback that will take Tom Brady’s place in the game against the New York Jets, however there are talks about Tampa Bay former quarterback Chris Simms stepping up to the plate although Belichick denied it.  Cassel  hasn’t started a football game since he was in high school – he never played college- so that, in a personal level, really worries me. Is Belichick going to trust Cassel with the insurmountable task of pulling a Tom Brady? Can the Patriots really win 13 games without their star quarterback Tom Brady? Will this change the direction for the Patriots?  What are the chances of getting to the Super Bowl? So many questions in the minds of all NFL fans.

With Tom Brady as their quarterback this NFL football team had become a strong rival, winning 3 super bowl championships since the QB joined them. I say if the team decides to pull their strength together they can at least win the AFC East and Casell will have a bit less pressure off his back. Right now the defense is still good enough to counter the rival offense.

In any case, this really adds uncertainty and a good dose of excitement to the mix since New England will now have to work harder and its rivals will know what the Patriots’ weak spot is. Let’s see how Belichick will handle the loss – without cheating – that is.

New York, this is the Jets chance

September 4, 2008

I am really looking forward to bet on NFL football at this upcoming NFL season; even more when I find out that Brett Favre is on my team (yes, now you know that I am a die-hard New York Jets fan).

The Jets had the NFL betting odds against them before Favre came in. Now they are a big contender, and they will surely be favored with the talent that this experienced NFL quarterback is bringing to the team.

So as it is well known, both the Giants and the Jets share Giants stadium, but we share a passion for different teams that stand a long-time rivalry. And when you know that we have a future NFL hall of famer to lead the team for this pro football season, you know that it might be the time for the other NY team to make it to the Super Bowl.

When you compare Eli Manning’s inconsistency with Brett Favre’s background, you know that the Gang Green is prepared to reign over the big apple this year.

Alright folks, I am on my way to buy my NFL tickets package in order to witness the Brett Favre era live and place my NFL football bets influenced by the intensity of the Giants stadium packed with 80 thousand souls cheering for the next NFL champion … so I hope!

NFC West preview

August 23, 2008

By constantly watching NFL football news, you get to realize what the best NFL football betting options for you are.

And recently I got to compare the teams at the NFC West to see which one would be the best choice for a given NFL football line.

Surely the Cardinals are the weakest NFL team of the division as each year they end up under .500, so they should be happy if they finish with a 7-9 record, while the 49ers are quite strong for this NFL football season, but they are not quite a playoff-caliber team just yet.

On the other hand, I think the Rams will do better this time around, with a good roster and a good defense, they just need to improve their record on the road and they will surely become the nemesis for the Seahawks to win the division.

Seattle is one of those pro football teams that are always struggling and due to their good efforts, they often come up with good results as back in the 05-06 season, when their roster was full of injuries and the team still made it to the second round of the NFL playoffs.

So I would say that the Seahawks are favorites here with a possible 10-6 record, and that’s where my money is going to be. How about yours?

The bookie we were looking for

August 14, 2008

I am an NFL football sports betting aficionado, I have to admit it. I gamble every single day along with my buddy Dane, who is always exchanging info on good NFL picks with me.

We are always switching between independent NFL football bookmakers as our winning percentage is quite high, and we are considered among the sports betting community as “wise guys” (the type of bettors who place NFL sports bets only when we feel completely sure), and we have left some bookies out of business and some have just decided not to pay us when we win big time, so we are constantly in search for those who are willing to pay no matter what the consequences of that cash out will be.

So last season we found out about this guy Colvin who accepted us as clients; we added $15,000 dollars each to our accounts, and when the time came to place our bets over the phone, he noticed that we were betting some NFL football parlays for $1,500, and he knew that if we won any of them, it could be devastating for his business, but he took them anyways…

Well, we did win a couple and the payback was outstanding, but what we didn’t know was that he was betting with an online sportsbook the same bets we had placed with him, so he knew that if we got to win anything, he would too.

We got to know about his online bets because when we called to find out about our respective account balances, he thanked us for allowing him to win big too, and we encourage him to continue betting NFL football using our same picks, since then, we haven’t had the need to switch to a different bookmaker

NFL player to serve more time in prison

August 12, 2008

Ahmad Bradshaw, halfback for the New York Giants will have to serve another 30 days in prison after the upcoming NFL season for violating terms of a probation he received as a 15-year-old when he played for the University of Virginia. When the police tried to break up a wild party, Bradshaw tried to leave the scene, later he pleaded guilty to underage drinking and resisting arrest. When he moved to Marshall University, he stole a playstation from one of the university dorms and was charged for petty larceny; for this he was sentenced to two years probation. So far, Bradshaw has already served the first of two 30-day sentences in June and July at the Abingdon Virginia Regional Jail.

About the matter, Bradshaw said he has commit any crimes or got into trouble since being drafted by the Giants in the seventh round of the NFL draft last year and has been clear and honest about his past mistakes, stating that he has learned his lessons. The NFL did follow the case and after a six-week investigation, the NFL announced that Ahmad Bradshaw would not be suspended.

Although he has only been part of the NFL for one season, Ahmad Bradshaw has collected a few recognitions: during the 12 games he played last year, he managed to accomplish his first NFL touchdown on December 23rd, 2007 with a nice 88-yard touchdown run in a playoff-clinching and won over the Buffalo Bills. During last year’s NFL playoffs, he carried 48 times for 208 yards and a touch down.

The bet that changed my life and turned me into a pro bookmaker

August 9, 2008

My buddy Don loves NFL football, as well as myself. Don’s a pro NFL sports bettor, and has made a ton of money as he bets NFL football constantly and has turned gambling into a form of art.

A few months ago, everything changed for me. I’d never bet big cash as my friend does, so, for some reason, he knew the Giants were going to win the Super Bowl, and he had planned to put 35 grand to the NFL football point spread for the New York Giants since they were huge underdogs, and he wanted me go to for it too.

So, he asked me for 5 grand, which I didn’t had at the moment, but knowing Don, I managed to come up with the money, so we put up a total of $40,000 to the Giants to beat the Patriots.

I guess you know the outcome… New York won Super Bowl XLII, and we both got some good dough as a result.

I am expecting to go for the same NFL football betting lines as my buddy in order to win big this coming NFL football season; in fact, Don just opened his own booking sheet and is ready to have a blast making money from NFL football enthusiasts like ourselves…
